Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water, about 75–85 F
- 3 tablespoons warm milk
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 & 1/3 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons fine salt
- 2 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Method
- Mix warm water, milk, yeast, and sugar. Wait 10 minutes.

In a second bowl, beat the egg.

Combine flour, salt, butter in your mixer. Mix until butter is pebble-sized.

Add liquid mix and egg to the flour. Mix 5-8 minutes.

Shape sticky dough into ball. Cover and let double (this will take between one and three hours depending on your room temperature).

Divide dough into 8 portions, shape into balls.

Rest balls 1-2 hours, brush with egg wash.

Preheat oven 400°F, add a water-filled pan in the bootom of the oven to heklp create steam.

Bake 15-20 min until golden.

Cool baked buns on rack.
